IN-BETWEEN: CANINE INSPIRED IMAGERY

I am quite sympathetic to this in-between state of existence concerning the domestic dog and often relate to these creatures more earnestly than their human counterparts.

I enjoy using canine imagery as a metaphor for human conditions – especially those concerning control, perfection and performance. My visual observations are not only about being human, but address being human in a dog’s world.

The materials used are dictated by the idea I am attempting to communicate. My intention is to create images in which the idea and object are interdependent and challenging – somewhere in-between conceptualism or objecthood, where a version of the truth is asserted in the spirit of serious humor.
